350 employees keep HR assistant Asha busy – and never bored!13th Apr 2017

HR assistant Asha Glenn joined Jones Bros with a number of years’ experience in large organisations.

Asha’s route to Ruthin involved human resources (HR) roles within the retailing and manufacturing industries.

Born and raised in London, Asha realised while studying for A-levels that she wanted a career in HR.

She explains: “I did A-levels in information, communication technology and business studies, as well as AS level maths.

“While studying the HR module, I realised that was where my interests lay, so I went on and studied BA (Hons) human resource management at the University of Hertfordshire.

“After graduating I joined Harrods which provided me with many valuable experiences which helped me to progress in my career.”

She went on to work at Warburtons and Armani Exchange, before moving with her family to North Wales. There, while searching for HR roles, she found the vacancy at Jones Bros advertised on jobs board www.indeed.co.uk.

Asha’s varied role at Jones Bros encompasses recruitment, co-ordination of on-boarding process, first point of contact regarding HR queries, as well as supporting managers

Asha said: “For example, part of my role is to facilitate the company’s joint consultative committee, where representatives of the workforce get a chance to speak to the board of directors, find out how the company is progressing and gives employees an opportunity to raise any queries.

“It’s a really varied role. Big companies have different departments for recruitment, training or employee relations. I’m lucky because I can get involved in a bit of everything. I never have two days the same!”
