Design and construct balance of plant civils and electrical infrastructure for three Gamesa 850KW turbines.
The site is located in farmland near the town of Torrington, Devon, and is situated above a water supply reservoir. Strict environmental controls were required to ensure containment of silt run-off from site construction operations, which proved successful – despite the majority of the construction works being carried out over the wet winter period.
Works included:
- Design and construction of site access tracks and extension of existing culvert
- Design and construction of three concrete turbine foundations and three crane pads
- Substation
- CDM supervision of turbine erection commissioning
- Diversion of WPD overhead lines and equipment to enable wind farm development
