Pen y Cymoedd end of year site update24th Dec 2014

Eryl Roberts, project manager for the Jones Bros and Balfour Beatty joint venture, gives us the final site update of 2014.

“Work is drawing to a close on site after a very wet but productive end to the year.

“We’ve completed more than half of the turbine bases for the project, having finished our fortieth this week. Work excavating any new bases will now be on hold until February, hopefully avoiding any bad weather at the start of the New Year.

“The steel fixing workers have finished for the year, so we’ll be working hard after Christmas getting the site ready for their return in March. We’re currently working in three of the four work sites, and will start work in the western region in the New Year.

“Work has also begun on laying the cables to the turbines, which will continue right the way through until the Autumn.”
