Work on the seven-turbine windfarm, in an environmentally sensitive area included:

  • Design and construction of access tracks
  • Design and construction of concrete turbine bases and crane pads
  • Design and construction of substation building and fit out
  • Design and cable laying and electrical fit out, including installation of transformer housings for each turbine
  • Highway improvements to accommodate deliveries

Working alongside its design team of Mott MacDonald and Powersystems, Jones Bros successfully completed the construction of seven turbine bases, of which one was a piled foundation design for added support to the foundation loads.

The substation work also included design and build of substation building, as well as preparation of the area for the installation of transformers and several pieces of grid compliance equipment.
