A sponsored cycle across Vietnam to raise thousands of pounds for charity Breast Cancer Care has been boosted following a donation from Jones Bros.
The firm sponsored Jane Chewins and her engineer husband Steve for £500 as they undertook a 450-mile charity cycle ride from Vietnam to Cambodia.
The cycle trip, which took nine days, proved a great success with the event likely to raise in excess of £7,000.
Jane suffered from breast cancer in 2014 and was keen wants to give something back to Breast Cancer Care, the charity that helped her through a difficult time.
Jane said: “It has been a fantastic experience with the main aim being to raise money for a very worthwhile charity, which we have managed to do. We thank Jones Bros most sincerely for their donation of £500.”
Jane’s husband Steve Chewins, head of highways and infrastructure for the Ramboll Group, is currently working with Jones Bros on the A487 Caernarfon to Bontnewydd bypass.
Breast Cancer Care provides care, information and support to people affected by breast cancer.
John Dielhof, Jones Bros’ managing director, said: “When we learned about the challenge Jane and Steve were undertaking for a very good cause, we were really keen to help.
“Cycling 450 miles is no mean feat and they did incredibly well.”
