Chartered construction manager Grant Harris has joined Jones Bros to broaden his career opportunities and experience.
Grant has been recruited as a project manager at the family firm and will lead projects across a wide range of sectors including highways, energy and renewables and coastal protection.
Grant previously worked for civil engineering and construction company Costain, where he began as a graduate engineer after completing a degree in construction management at the University of Manchester.
Based at the firm’s Ruthin headquarters, Grant has returned to his native North Wales with his young family.
“I’m originally from the area and it’s great to return and provide stability for my children who are aged just two and three,” he said.
“I’m really excited to join Jones Bros as it is a terrific firm with a great reputation.
“One of the main reasons for me wanting to join however was Jones Bros ambition to grow across a wide range of sector. Having worked on a variety of projects whilst at Costain including hospitals, schools, airfield upgrades, water frameworks and major highways, I feel I have the experience to add value to this ambition.”
John Dielhof, managing director of Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Grant to our team and his skills and previous experience will be a valuable asset to the company.
“We are very fortunate to have a committed, talented workforce at Jones Bros which enables us to continually expand our portfolio of projects across the UK and beyond.
“We also have highly effective apprenticeship and training programmes and career development programmes which help us to attract the best people at different stages in their careers – from trainees to more experienced engineers.”
Founded in the 1950s, the family firm has grown significantly in the last decade. Its areas of expertise include the construction of waste management facilities, highways, flood and marine defence and renewable energy projects.
