Experienced workers and potential apprentices invited to civil engineering firm’s careers events8th Sep 2017

A leading civil engineering firm is holding two careers events to promote opportunities to join its 350-strong workforce.

Jones Bros Civil Engineering, based in Ruthin, will showcase its wide-ranging career opportunities at Coleg Menai in Llangefni on Thursday 7 September, and Coleg Meirion Dwyfor’s Glynllifon campus on Thursday 14 September.

And the company is calling for those experienced and qualified in engineering, construction, finance and HR to visit, as well as graduates and school leavers.

The events will give attendees the chance to speak to senior Jones Bros staff about jobs available at the firm and how they can apply. In addition to roles working on site, Jones Bros also offers careers at its head office.

The careers evenings come after a series of successful events at the company’s headquarters, which led to some attendees being taken on as full time staff.

Both events run from 5pm to 8pm with presentations about the business made at 5:30pm and 7pm. People do not need to book on or register to attend.

Ruth James, director at Jones Bros, said; “We are growing as a company and are always on the lookout for talented people to join us.

“These upcoming events are for everyone – no matter whether you’ve worked for 30 years or have recently left school, I urge anyone who is interested in finding out more about working in civil engineering to visit.

“It’s an exciting time for north west Wales with significant infrastructure projects in the pipeline. For example, work could begin next spring on the £90m Caernarfon to Bontnewydd bypass, a project Jones Bros has won a contract for in a joint venture with Balfour Beatty.

“We are a dynamic and forward thinking family firm that offers genuine career opportunities. We believe firmly in developing talent organically, providing clear career progression, and promoting from within.”

Ahead of the event, Jones Bros will post updates on its Facebook page, as well as share future vacancies.

Founded in the 1950s and employing almost 350 people, Jones Bros has grown rapidly in the last decade. It is currently working on contracts in various sectors including the construction of waste management facilities, highways, flood and marine defence and renewable energy projects around the UK.
