A spotlight has been shone on Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK’s desire to help accelerate the transition to a net zero future in Wales.
The Ruthin-headquartered company sponsored the Renewable Growth Conference 2025, which brought innovators, business leaders, and sustainability advocates together to explore real-world solutions, partnerships, and opportunities within the sector.
As a proud Welsh contractor, Jones Bros is helping shape a greener outlook through large-scale renewable energy infrastructure, from wind farms and battery energy storage systems to tidal energy schemes and sustainable transport projects.
Contracts director Eryl Roberts said: “Our determination to be at the forefront in the quest to achieve net zero in Wales by 2050 has been evident for several years.
“It’s always incredibly insightful and thought provoking when there is a room full of people who are truly focused on sustainability, and the knowledge shared is hugely valuable.
“We are proud of our work in the sector, which includes Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm, Morlais tidal energy scheme, battery storage project Uskmouth, and Swansea Greener Grid Park, to name but a few.”
The Deeside Business Forum-led event’s keynote address was delivered by Rhun ap Iorwerth MS, leader of Plaid Cymru and Member of the Senedd for Ynys Môn, who followed on from a passionate opening speech from Deeside Business Forum president Lord Barry Jones.
Seminars were held by experts on topics including wind, tidal, and solar energy, with those in attendance able to pick the brains of some key players in those fields throughout an action-packed day.
Eryl added: “It was great to be able to showcase our skills in renewables and fantastic to see the commitment to future projects in the country and North Wales specifically.
“At Jones Bros, we are eager to support regional growth and greener jobs whist delivering developments that balance progress with sustainability.”
Established in the 1950s, Jones Bros owns one of the largest plant fleets in the UK and employs approximately 500 people.
