Jones Bros hits the target with backing of Scottish football club22nd Apr 2026

Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK has provided a crucial assist to Craigmark Burtonians Football Club’s matchday operations.

Chasing promotion from Division Three of the West of Scotland Football League, The Mark have been given a timely off-field boost in the shape of a new food kiosk.

Windy Standard III Wind Farm developer Fred.Olsen Renewables, principal contractor Jones Bros, and Tony Gee and Partners, which is providing design and monitoring services, have combined to provide updated facilities at Station Park, Dalmellington.

The 20ft cabin provides updated food and drink amenities for supporters that will help generate much-needed revenue.

Committee member Connor Paterson said: “The new food kiosk is a real boost for us as a semi-professional community club that’s run entirely by volunteers.

“Our previous set-up had done a good job over the years, but it was beginning to look a little tired and increasingly difficult to maintain, so having a modern, reliable facility in place is a big step forward.”

On the support received by Craigmark Burtonians, Connor continued: “We’re extremely grateful to the trio of Jones Bros, Fred.Olsen, and Tony Gee in helping us get the kiosk sorted.

“The support, professionalism, and willingness to help have made a real difference, and the benefits will be felt for many seasons to come.”

Jones Bros project manager Elliot Bidmead insists that the Ruthin-headquartered firm was only too happy to help the football club, which is located around half-an-hour away from the wind farm.

He said: “Ourselves, Fred.Olsen, and Tony Gee were ready to get involved as soon as we were contacted by Connor.

“Clubs such as Craigmark Burtonians are invaluable to the communities in which they operate, so we were pleased to be able to give them a timely boost.

“We hope to see the team thrive on the pitch and the supporters enjoy the off-field facilities for years to come.”

Cris Thacker, communications manager at Fred. Olsen Renewables, echoed those sentiments.

He said: “We’re thrilled to support Craigmark Burtonians with this new food kiosk. Community engagement is at the heart of our projects, and providing facilities that enhance the matchday experience is a great way to give back.

“We look forward to seeing the club continue to thrive both on and off the pitch.”
