Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK was a big-name summer signing for Wrexham AFC ahead of its return to the English Football League.
The Ruthin-headquartered firm is sponsoring the Red Dragons – the oldest club in Wales – as Phil Parkinson’s team tackle their first League Two campaign since 2008.
Co-owned by Hollywood duo Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, Wrexham secured a first victory at the level in 15 years by beating Walsall 4-2 at The STōK Racecourse.
Throughout the campaign, Jones Bros’ advertising board will potentially hit screens across the world given the appeal of the club’s famous proprietors and the documentary Welcome to Wrexham.
Jones Bros contracts director Hefin Lloyd-Davies said: “Wrexham is our local professional football team and we’ve watched with pride as it ended a lengthy spell in the National League.
“It’s wonderful for the city and the whole of North Wales that the club is on an upward trajectory, and we at Jones Bros are relishing the chance to play a small part in what is expected to be another successful season on and off the pitch.
“We want to wish Phil Parkinson and his players the best for the campaign, and hopefully they are celebrating another promotion next April.”
Established in the 1950s, Jones Bros owns one of the largest plant fleets in the UK and employs approximately 500 people.
The company is currently working on contracts in various sectors including highways, flood and marine defence, waste management and renewable energy around the UK.
The company runs an award-winning apprenticeship scheme, which has produced nearly 40 per cent of its current workforce, with many of its senior managers having started out as apprentices or in a trainee role. It has recruited more than 100 apprentices during the past three years.
