Jones Bros has strengthened its presence in the low-carbon energy sector by becoming an employer member of the National Skills Academy for Nuclear.
As a member of the Skills Academy, Jones Bros will be implementing the Nuclear Skills Passport. The Nuclear Skills Passport is a secure database that holds the qualifications and training details of people likely to work on nuclear sites.
Jones Bros will use it to upload details of the members of our workforce so potential clients can see they have the skills and qualifications to operate in this highly specialized field.
Managing director, Huw Jones, said membership of the National Skills Academy for Nuclear gives us access to a network of high quality training providers specialising in nuclear skills.
We intend to use this to train our workforce in the skills they need to operate in this specialist sector.
It also gives us a seat at the Regional Steering Group, enabling Jones Bros to keep abreast of developments in the nuclear industry, helping us to compete for new work.
He said: “It demonstrates our level of commitment to the nuclear sector.”
The National Skills Academy for Nuclear was established to create, develop and promote world-class skills and career paths to support a sustainable future for the UK Nuclear industry.
On signing up to the academy, Jones Bros was presented with an NSA Nuclear employer member’s plaque by NSA Nuclear regional manager, Alli Hunt.
