Local MP meets apprentices at purpose-built training centre25th Jul 2022

Vale of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies met civil engineering apprentices during a recent visit to their training centre in Denbigh.

Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK currently has 40 apprentices on its books, with the aim to recruit a further 30 by September.

The firm, which has recruited more than 100 apprentices in the last four years, offers plant operative and general construction operative apprenticeships as well as higher apprenticeships at levels 4 and 5 in civil engineering and construction management.

Mr Davies spoke with apprentices to hear about their experiences on sites ranging from the world’s largest offshore wind farm to multi-million pound highways schemes and waste management projects.

Jones Bros chairman Huw Jones also discussed the firm’s plans with the former North Wales Hospital, including the construction of 300 new homes as well as facilities for local businesses, shops and leisure activities.
