Clwyd East MP Becky Gittins has praised Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK for its “fantastic commitment to creating opportunities for local young people”.

Jones Bros currently provides an operative training scheme, aimed at ensuring youngsters still have a route into civil engineering after the Welsh Government’s decision to cease funding for the level two apprenticeship programme.

Ms Gittins also lauded Jones Bros for its commitment to the UK’s net zero by 2050 target, evident through its major multi-million-pound renewable energy projects such as North Kyle Wind Farm and tidal energy scheme Morlais, which are set to power a combined total of nearly 350,000 households in Britain.

“We are determined to help the drive towards net zero, and that is evident in our activity on schemes including tidal energy, wind farms, and battery storage.
“As always, we look forward to nurturing the civil engineers of the future through our career pathways, which features the trainee operative scheme and full degree apprenticeship,”
